Role of Champions
Country level adoption of INPAS may require engagement with regulators, standard setters, accounting institutes, educators, auditors, NPOs and civil society. The role of Country Champions varies according to context, but they generally act as a focal point for connection to key national stakeholders, which may include the establishment of a National Working Group.
National Working Groups
Small groups are an effective way to ensure all relevant stakeholders are engaged, and move forwards with an adoption strategy. Country Champions often support their establishment, where an equivalent group does not already exist. Groups are led and organised at national level, and the details vary by country, but generally:
- Have about 7-15 members
- Include key decision makers (eg regulators)
- Include all stakeholder groups

Become a Country Champion
If your country does not have a Country Champion, please consider volunteering or nominating someone. Country Champions may be organisations, with nominated key-contacts, or individuals. National Accountancy Institutes and National Networks of Non-Profit Organisations or their leaders might be interested in taking on this role. Nominated individuals should be familiar with NPO accounting issues within their country and ideally affiliated with relevant networks where they exist. They should also have a significant interest in the objectives of INPAS and be committed to its overall success. Champions may not normally be from for-profit entities, unless they hold official roles on relevant non-profit bodies.
