Donor Engagement Director

Tim became Donor Engagement Director in April 2026. He has been involved with advocating and fundraising for an international accounting standard for the non-profit sector since he became CEO of Mango in 2010. In 2012, he met Ian Carruthers and developed a partnership with the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA), which secured funding for independent research into the need for international accounting standards for not for profit organisations (NPOs) in 2014. These efforts were a key driver behind Mango merging with two US-based non-profits to create Humentum in 2017, which partnered with CIPFA on the IFR4NPO initiative between 2019 and 2025. Humentum and CIPFA then co-founded INPRF in late 2025.

Tim left his role as Global Director of Insights and Influence at Humentum at the end of 2022 and founded Fair Funding Solutions, which has been supporting clients to develop and implement more equitable funding practices. Tim has also refreshed his skills as a practitioner by taking on fractional CFO roles. Meanwhile, Tim continued to work with IFR4NPO on a consultancy basis.  Tim undertakes research and develops tools which ensure grants provide fair cost recovery, and previously co-authored Breaking the Starvation Cycle and Cost Recovery: what it means for CSOs.

Before joining Mango, Tim worked in various senior leadership roles within the social sector. He was Chief Executive of Learning South West, a UK education and youth work charity between 2005 and 2009. Prior to that Tim lived and worked in Vietnam for 3 years as Country Director for VSO. At Christian Aid he was Head of Finance, Head of Programme Funding and Finance Director. His first job in the not-for-profit sector was as a Regional Accountant for West and Southern Africa at Save the Children. Tim studied Philosophy and Economics at Cambridge and qualified as a chartered accountant with Arthur Andersen, while working in their turnaround and insolvency practice.

Tim loves singing, acting, performing poetry, walking in nature and gardening.
